Magical Memories
Life deserves to be celebrated. New beginnings, new relationships, milestones, endings, and next chapters - a ceremony will mark the occasion and create memories for you and your family.
I love creating ceremonies that reflect the personalities of the people involved, are unique and fill the soul.
I'm right for you if you're seeking a celebrant who:
- is a good listener and will make you feel comfortable, seen, heard and supported
- knows their stuff and can answer your questions
- is female
- will make it easy for you
- can write and tell a good story, blending humour and emotions
- will make you feel that you're not just a number, that you are important
- knows how to blend in - I am not the star of the show
As an independent celebrant, I can help you create a ceremony that is individually tailored to your specific needs, including any beliefs, faith, or cultural aspects that are important to you.
I specialise in:
- Funerals, memorials, living wakes & eulogy writing
- Weddings & union ceremonies
- Bespoke ceremonies, e.g. divorce, naming ceremonies etc.
- Ritual work e.g. for circles or community groups, opening or closing retreats etc.
I work across Central Scotland and Lancashire, although able to travel. My current prices are at the bottom of this page.
Funerals, memorials & living wakes
Let's honour and celebrate a life.
Every life deserves to be honoured.
Saying goodbye is one of the hardest things we ever do. In the midst of grief, it can be difficult to find the right words or even know where to start. That’s where I come in.
As a celebrant, I’ll listen with compassion, gather the stories that matter, and weave them into a ceremony that reflects the person you love — their values, their quirks, their legacy. Whether it’s deeply spiritual, quietly simple, or joyfully celebratory, the ceremony will feel true to them.
⚘ Time and space to tell their story, their way.
⚘ Warm, supportive guidance for your family.
⚘ A ceremony that brings comfort, connection, and meaning.
This is more than just a service — it’s a chance to honour a life well-lived, and to create a memory that will carry you through the days and years ahead.
Why work with me?
- I believe that everyone deserves time for a goodbye and that this goodbye supports us with our grief. I am honoured and grateful to be able to do this work. I love listening to people's stories, getting to know them and the mark that they have left and then having the privilege of weaving this all together into a eulogy that will support families and friends in their grief.
- I pride myself on the personal touch. I'll meet you, ideally in person, and hold space for you to talk about your loved one and gently support you. I'll make sure any wishes they had or you have are included in the service.
- As an independent celebrant, I can tailor your ceremony to suit your specific needs, wants, beliefs, culture or faith or a blend of everything.
- I will guide and advise you as much as you like and can make suggestions on readings, eulogies (if you would like to do it yourself) and rituals.
- I'm very organised and want to make this process as easy as possible for you so am accessible over phone, text or email - whatever works for you.
- There will be no surprises for you in the funeral service as you will have reviewed and approved the service before the day of the funeral.
I write and lead services for cremations, burials or ash interments. I work across central Scotland and Lancashire.

The Last Word - writing your own eulogy
Do you want to have the last word? I can help you if you would like to write your own funeral whether you want to make it easier for your loved ones to deal with when the time comes or you have specific music, stories or points to be included. Please contact me if you would like this service and we can have an introductory meeting so I can provide you with more information.
Living wakes
A Living Wake is an opportunity for you to attend your own wake or funeral. For most people who want a Living Wake, this is because your time here is drawing to a close and you would like to have a final farewell with your family and friends. A Living Wake is can also be a metaphor to end a chapter in your life. I can help you curate either ceremony, making sure it fits your needs and is highly personal to your situation. I can advise and guide on the structure or flow of the ceremony and its contents.
What my clients say
I love my work, so when clients take the time to drop me a note to say thanks, it makes it even more worthwhile. Here are a few recent messages:
- "You done a great job telling my mums story, and we were all very pleased with the funeral" - Wayne
- "Thank you for today - it was perfect" - Ingrid - Funeral Director
- "I just thought I'd write to express my gratitude for Mum's eulogy. You captured her perfectly, encapsulating the essence of a 80-year life well lived. Thank you." - George

I will work outside of central Scotland and Lancashire, but reasonable travel expenses may be charged. These will be agreed in advance.
Weddings
A wedding ceremony that is all about you two.
No-one else.
Your love story is unique, let's make sure your wedding ceremony reflects that.
Your wedding ceremony should feel like you and not a script anyone else could have. I pride myself on creating a ceremony that feels personal, meaningful and true to you both.
Whether you dream of something traditional with a modern twist, or a ceremony filled with laughter, symbolism and soul, I’ll take the time to get to know you, your journey, and what matters most. Together, we’ll craft words and rituals that capture the essence of your relationship and the promises you want to make for the future.
💍 A ceremony that celebrates your unique love.
💍 Space to include family, friends, and traditions (old or new).
💍 Guidance and ideas to help you feel calm, confident and excited.
On your wedding day, you won’t be reciting words you don’t connect with, you’ll be speaking from the heart.
Why work with me?
- Apart from absolutely loving love, I put you both at the heart of how I work. I will hold space for you both, and guide and support you through the process so that you have the ceremony you want, and that sets the perfect tone for the celebrations that will follow it.
- I understand the importance of this day to you both and it's my aim to help make the ceremony side of things easy for you, for you to get what you want, and bring that extra magic to your special occasion so that the memory lasts a lifetime for the right reasons.
- I'm an independent celebrant, which means that I can tailor your ceremony to suit your specific needs, wants, beliefs, culture, faith or a blend of everything. Your ceremony won't be generic, it will be special, a one-off, the ceremony of your dreams.
- If you're in Scotland, I can legally marry you.
- On the day, I'll hold space for you both, work with your team and keep the ceremony flowing seamlessly. I want you to be able to focus on what truly matters: marrying the love of your life.
- I always have a free, no obligation, introductory meeting (either by phone, zoom, or in person) to talk about what you are looking for so you can discover if I will be the perfect celebrant for you. I really hope so as I LOVE weddings!
- I am very organised and transparent so you'll know what's happening when and you'll be able to contact me with any questions.
What happens next?
Once you have decided to go ahead with me, we will sign a Services Agreement and you'll pay a non-refundable deposit to secure your date.
When it gets to around 16 weeks before you're big day, we'll get back together and talk through the ceremony, your love story and the next steps. I'll take you through the mandatory elements so we make sure it's all legal. You will receive advice and guidance from me and I can help with ideas for readings, vow writing (if you'd like to write your own) and additional elements to your ceremony (e.g. tying the knot, quaich or sand ceremonies, candle lighting).
I'll share with you a plan of what will happen when as well as setting up WhatsApp group to make sure I'm available to you should you need anything. You'll get draft scripts along the way for you to approve. I can attend a rehearsal (if required and within reason). And I'll arrive on your big day with plenty of time to check in on your both and your team to make sure everything is going to be as you want it.

What my clients say...
It's such a privilege to be a celebrant and it is even more rewarding when my clients take some time to share their experience.
Here are a few recent messages:
“We couldn’t have chosen a better person to marry us than Gail. From our very first meeting, I was immediately drawn to her warmth, humor, and her incredible ability to make you feel completely at ease. She guided us through timelines and paperwork and regularly checked in to ensure we stayed on track.
Gail took the time to get to know our story and shared it with our family and friends during the ceremony as if she had lived it alongside us. She’s one of those rare people who instantly makes you feel like you’ve known them your whole life.
Thank you, Gail, for marrying us—you were absolutely the perfect person for the job.“ - Katie & Paul
--
"Thank you so much Gail! You were absolutely brilliant and such a calming presence." - Jane & Jon
--
"You made the whole process so easy for us both - thanks." - Louise & Keiran
